Appealing to a strategy that I had been using in my previous works, consisting of the appropriation of cinematographic stills to use them as references for my pictorial representations, I intend to delve into this method of work, but first undertaking searches of a technical nature. After appreciating the title of this exhibition, I opted for ¨PUNCTUM¨. A strangeness a complexity but it offered the information that needed to be transferred and a bit of mystery so that people who did not know the term would look for it and generate intrigue. I feel that it sums up the essence of why my selection of images for the exhibition, playing more in the field of the unconscious, not always explainable, but that adds an extra dimension to the image, wild and casual, the product of intuitive and visceral processes.
The Punctum of a photograph - Barthes points out - “is that chance that stands out to me in it”. "It emerges from the scene like an arrow that comes to stick." The Punctum “can fill the whole photo” (….) Although “very often it is just a detail” that becomes something Proustian: it is something intimate and often unnameable.
