Request Private Show Request Private Show Biographies Biography Alejandra Oliva was born on November 2, 1989 in Havana Cuba. She began in 2004 at the San Alejandro National School of Fine Arts where she was selected for the CUBA-U.K Solidarity in Art exchange, between the Cardinal Wiseman High School in London and the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts. He graduated as the first national record from art schools and with a gold diploma in 2008. In 2008 he entered the Faculty of Visual Arts at the Higher Institute of Art (I.S.A.), studying the specialty of Performing Arts. In 2009 he changed his career to the specialty of Visual Arts. He stood out in his participation within the artistic collective 4ta Pragmatica, led by the Cuban artist René Francisco Rodríguez. He participated in various group exhibitions. In 2012 it was presented at the Eleventh Havana Biennial. She graduated as the first record of her course in 2014. In 2010 she was selected by the Artefatto contest in Trieste, Italy, to participate in the Candy World exhibition at the Umberto Veruda Hall. In 2013 he won third place in the drawing category at the Art Fest @ contest at Carlos Albizu University in Miami, Florida, USA. He began his work as an artistic duo with Manuel Daniel Lugo Rodríguez in 2013. Together they held various personal exhibitions in Cuba. His works are in private collections in England, the United States, Mexico, Italy and Cuba. Manuel Lugo was born on October 3, 1989 in Havana, Cuba. Her visual works explore gender dynamics, question society constructs, and promote female empowerment. She is also linked to the literary world, with many of her writings tapping into relationships, sexuality, and memories. Santa Cruz has participated in festivals such as The Ephemeral Sculpture Festival (2013) and attended residencies such as Hypatia in the Woods (2015). Her work has been shown at the National Art Museum, Cuba; Confluence Gallery, Washington; Art Scene West Gallery, Los Angeles; Light Space Online Gallery, among others. Request Private Show Request Private Show Biography Biography Ruth Mariet Trueba nace el 6 de marzo de 1991 en La Habana, Cuba. Desde su primera infancia se orienta hacia las artes plásticas y la literatura, arribando a la educación artística de nivel medio con 14 años, en la Academia de San Alejandro. En ese ambiente se desarrolla su participación en concursos, exposiciones colectivas e intercambios internacionales. Al graduarse de dicha institución en la especialidad de pintura, ingresa a la Universidad de las Artes (ISA), en la facultad de artes visuales. Aquí es seleccionada para integrar la Cuarta Pragmática, un proyecto pedagógico del Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas, René Francisco Rodríguez. Durante aproximadamente 4 años se encuentra trabajando con este colectivo artístico, inmersa en exhibiciones colectivas y proyectos de intervenciones públicas, a la vez que continúa incursionando en la literatura y la liturgia. Su proyecto de tesis para la graduación del ISA, coincide en el tiempo con el Primer Premio de POST-IT, que le permitiera realizar “Esquirlas”, una exposición personal en la Galería Collage del Fondo Cubano de Bienes Culturales. De esta manera, se gradúa del ISA con una mención especial en Práctica- Preprofesional y continúa su labor de creación artística. Actualmente, se encuentra desarrollando su proyecto de tesis de maestría en torno a una propuesta de arte contemporáneo para la estación litúrgica de la resurrección, como parte de sus estudios de Maestría en Liturgia, avalada por la Comunidad Teológica de México y el Seminario Evangélico de Teología en Matanzas.
